Seismic Data Processing

Initial seismic processing was performed in the field on laptop computers. After the field crew demobilized more extensive processing was undertaken at ESRI's data processing facility.

(In-the-field Data Processing and Interpretation at Ceresco)

In the Field Data Processing Flow:
  • Vibroseis correlation with synthetic sweep
  • True amplitude recovery - T**n power scaling
  • Spiking deconvolution
  • Scaling
  • FK filter - reject linear noise
  • Bandpass filter
  • Trace edits / Geometry
  • CDP sort
  • Velocity analysis (constant vel. stks)
  • NMO / Bandpass filter / AGC
  • Stretch mute - 30 percent
  • CDP stack w/root n scaling
  • Bandpass filter
  • Spectral whitening
  • Trace mix - 5 pt center weighted
  • AGC
  • Display
Laboratory Data Processing Flow:
  • Reformat field Data - SEG-D to internal format
  • Vibroseis correlation with synthetic sweep (SEG-Y out)
  • Resample 0.5 ms to 1.0 ms
  • Trace edit / First break mute
  • True amplitude recovery - T**n power scaling
  • Geometry definition & assignment
  • Surface consistent amplitude scaling - source & receiver
  • Spiking deconvolution
  • Bandpass filter / Scaling
  • FK filter / Remove Scaling
  • CDP sort / Datum statics
  • Velocity analysis (constant vel. stks & vel. spectra)
  • NMO / Bandpass filter / AGC
  • Stretch mute - 30 percent ---------> QC Stack
  • Surface consistent residual statics (max. stk power algorithm, 3 ms max static)
  • CDP trim statics, 1 ms maximum
  • CDP stack w/root n scaling
  • Spectral whitening
  • FX deconvolution
  • Time variant filter
  • Time variant scaling - RMS 200 ms gates
  • Display
