Field Attribute Collector and Exporter
(FACE)
FACE is an ArcMap 8.3 Template (.mxt) with
additional functionality built in and designed for use by the NRCS
and Technical Service Providers.
The additional functionality enables the NRCS user to pull
data from their geodatabase and assigns their projection (both to the
data frame and the created shapefiles) based upon the user’s
preference.xml file. FACE
works equally well for the TSP using shapefiles, including attributing
their spatial features. FACE's
primary purpose is to enable the user to export the derived spatial
data in a tabular format to be used with AFOPro, MMP or as a Soil
Export file containing the spatial data and specific NASIS soils
data.

FACE is distributed zipped in a self-extracting
file along with the helpfile.
When executed by the user, a folder will be created on the
user's local C drive named 'FACE' and the ArcMap template (FACE)
along with the helpfile (.chm) will be deposited there. While FACE is a template and can be
used from any location on the user's machine, it will always look to
the default folder when prompted by the user to open the helpfile. To
open the tool, double-click on the template named
"FACE83_GDB.mxt". See helpfile for additional instructions.
The AFOSpatial database is distributed zipped in a
self-extracting file and when extracted resides in C:\Program
Files\ESRI-USC\AFOPro\AFOProSpatial\db. This file is an Access database
populated by FACE at the user's prompting during the export process. This database contains the land
unit attributes as well as specific soils data for the soils located
in the selected land units if the data sets are provided by the user
(Ssurgo shapefile and NASIS database). For users of AFOPro, this
database can be imported into versions 2.0 and higher, although it is
no longer required to import data into version 2.2. For user's who have installed
AFOPro version 2.2 along with AFOPro Spatial, this file all ready
resides in the correct location. For user's of MMP (Manure Management
Planner), this database is only needed if the Soils Export file (not
related to MMP) is created during the export process.
